Data Manager

The Psychology department at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Data Manager.

This is a research Data Manager position for a Phase III randomized clinical trial of exercise on cognitive and brain outcomes in older adults. The position will require weekly oversight of clinically sensitive data collected at Pittsburgh, Boston, and Kansas City sites on nearly 700 people. The data collected at all sites includes brain imaging, cognitive, medical, fitness, physical activity, physical function, body composition, cardiovascular, blood biomarkers and genetics, social and affective questionnaires, and other similar measures. The employee will be responsible for developing protocols for data collection and transfer of data to Pittsburgh; use of REDcap and other data transferring software; assessing quality control of the data; statistical analysis of data and consistency of data collection efforts across sites; and reporting results to the PI on a weekly basis. The employee will also have a responsibility to manage and assess the quality of brain imaging data using programming software and might need to program new software for ease of data management. The position will update and manage laboratory and study webpages, servers, neuroimaging computers, and other external devices in the lab. The employee should have extensive knowledge of UNIX and Matlab. The position will supervise and manage the work of other staff members, students, and post-docs involved in data collection and analysis. The employee will interact on a daily basis with individuals at multiple sites and in multiple labs as well as Information Technology staff at the University of Pittsburgh. It is imperative that the candidate be exceptionally organized, have programming expertise, expertise in statistics and data management, and be able to communicate regularly with staff at multiple levels.
