Nonverbal behavior is multimodal and interpersonal. In several studies, Dr. Hammal addressed facial expressions and head movement for emotion communication and social interaction. By modeling multimodal and interpersonal communication her work seeks to inform affective computing. In this talk, she will address some of her recent work that has addressed computational methods for modeling nonverbal behavior in social interaction, automatic pain detection, and depression severity measurement.
