Postdoctoral Position - Lab of Rebecca Seal, PhD, Department of Neurobiology (Sensory Biology)

The Seal laboratory is looking for a postdoctoral associate to study neural circuits underlying touch and pain. In particular, we are investigating the role of specific primary afferents and spinal cord networks in neuropathic and inflammatory pain states. The lab employs a multidisciplinary approach including generating new genetically modified mice, electrophysiology (with optogenetics), calcium imaging, viral delivery of DREADDs, viral tracing, pharmacology and behavior.  Please see Peirs, Williams et al.,Neuron. 2015 Aug 19; 87(4):797-812.

PhD or MD/PhD (within the last two years) in neuroscience, physiology or related discipline.  Knowledge of synaptic physiology a plus.
